16 -  Women's Business: Not for women Only.

Archaeologists, anthropologists, cultural historians, and mythologists world wide have found indicators of a women’s world  view, unspoken, marked on rocks, carved in cupules, painted or  placed in an ephemeral or permanent manner in the landscape. This  session, entitled WOMEN'S BUSINESS will concentrate on ancient  gender portrayal of women in all rock art, cave and shelter sites,  dolmens, human created land formations, narratives marked on wood,  bone, skin, including all that is functional, artistic,   ritualistic, visual and auditory throughout the ages.  Another aspect of WOMEN'S BUSINESS is included in this session as a subtitle “Not For Women Only”.  Speakers are invited to include all facets of gender portrayal found in art forms and functional items which they have discovered as they have researched the past.  Inclusiveness informs us and completes the whole of the human story.
